Background
An article on the Danish soccer website, www.bold.dk, stated that the owner of Chester City Football Club had listed the club for sale for 1 English pound; about 8.50 Danish Kroner.

The club is currently ranking last in the 5th best English league, but only two seasons ago they were in League Two. The Home Ground of the club, Deva Stadium, has a capacity of about 5300 spectators, with an average attendance of 1200 per match in the present season.
The club is mostly known for the legendary Ian Rush; the former Liverpool-player, who played his first league matches in Chester City FC. Ian Rush was also working as the manager for club when they played in the 4th best league; since his departure and with the current owners it has went steady downhill.
The club currently has a debt of about 250.000 Danish Kroner in tax debt. Besides that it owes a similar amount to additional creditors, who do not file for a bankruptcy petition, but are willing to enter into an instalment agreement. This is, among others, local businesses who definitely are interested in the survival of the club.
We are aware of further debt, but due a non-disclosure agreement, we are not allowed to state these numbers.
